Census 2021 results show that, as of March 2021, there was a total of 23,541 residents of Oxfordshire who had previously served in the UK armed forces.
This was 4.0% of the population, just above the England average of 3.8%.
The district with the highest rate of Armed Forces veterans was West Oxfordshire with 5.5% of the population.

Census 2021 data is published for areas called Middle Super Output Areas (MSOAs) each averaging around 7,600 residents.
The following MSOA’s have the highest population rate of Armed Forces Veterans in Oxfordshire. It shows that armed forces veterans are more likely to live close to current military bases with Carterton MSOAs being near RAF Brize Norton. The Defence Academy in Shrivenham MSOA.
